    Probably borrowed from Dravidian, from Proto-Dravidian *po- (hollow), whence Tamil பொ (po, perforate), Tamil புய் (puy, be pulled), பிய் (piy), பொய் (poy, be pulled), பொகு (poku), பொக்கு (pokku, hole), பொதிர் (potir, pierce), பொது (potu, be perforated), பொத்து (pottu, hole).
