Inherited from Proto-Dravidian *kēḷ-. Cognate with Kannada ಕೇಳು (kēḷu), Malayalam കേൾക്കുക (kēḷkkuka), Tulu ಕೇೞ್ (kēḻŭ), Kodava ಕೇಳ್ (kēḷŭ), Toda [script needed] (ke·ḷ), Kolami కెల్ (kel).
