An Hội Đông
An Hội Đông is a ward in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is one of 168 new wards, communes and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City after the arrangement in 2025.[1][2]

Geography
An Hội Đông borders the following wards:
- The north borders Thới An
- The west borders An Hội Tây
- The southwest borders Thông Tây Hội
- The south borders Gò Vấp
- The northeast borders An Phú Đông
According to Official Dispatch No. 2896/BNV-CQDP dated May 27, 2025 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, An Hoi Dong ward after the arrangement has an area of 3.29km², population in 2024 is 123,681 people, population density reaches 37,593 people/km² (statistical data as of December 31, 2024 according to regulations in Article 6 of Resolution No. 76/2025/UBTVQH15 dated April 14, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly[3]).
History
On June 16, 2025, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1685/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025.[4] The entire natural area and population size of Ward 15 and Ward 16 of Go Vap district were previously arranged into a new ward called, An Hội Đông (Clause 50, Article 1).[4]
Name
In the 2025 commune-level administrative unit arrangement, the city government has advocated naming new wards and communes with letters (no longer naming them with numbers) with many considerations from the history of the land, familiarity and cultural values.[5] This policy has been widely supported by the people. Among them, some old place names such as Sài Gòn, Gia Định, Chợ Lớn, and others have been restored.[6]
In which, An Hội is the name of a bronze casting village in Go Vap district (old).[7]In addition, An Hoi is also the name of an ancient communal house that has been recognized as a City-level architectural and artistic relic.[8]
