Etymology
Inherited from Chagatai قانداغ (qāndāġ /qandaġ/), قانداق (qāndāq /qandaq/), from *kanï teg. Equivalent to qa- (interrogative stem) + -ni (accusative suffix) + -dek (similitude suffix). Compare Kyrgyz кандай (kanday), Kazakh қандай (qandai), Uyghur قانداق (qandaq).
