ஒட்டு • (oṭṭu)

1. (transitive) to stick, patch, bind (like glue)

   பசையை வைத்து காகிதங்களை ஒட்டு.

   pacaiyai vaittu kākitaṅkaḷai oṭṭu.

   Bind the papers with the glue.

2. (intransitive) to stick, cling to

   எண்ணெய் ஒட்டாது. ― eṇṇey oṭṭātu. ― Oil won't stick.

3. (transitive) to accompany, go along with

   அவனை ஒட்டிப் போனேன். ― avaṉai oṭṭip pōṉēṉ. ― I went with him.

4. (intransitive) to be used to the full extent

   உணவை மென்று சாப்பிட்டால் தான் உடம்பில் ஒட்டும்.

   uṇavai meṉṟu cāppiṭṭāl tāṉ uṭampil oṭṭum.

   Food sticks (all the nutrition from the food is absorbed) in the body only if it is chewed and eaten.
