Etymology

    On the basis of forms like घट्टित (ghaṭṭita), ultimately a Sanskritization of Prakrit घट्टइ (ghaṭṭaï), perhaps further from Sanskrit घृष्ट (ghṛṣṭa, rubbed).[1][2] Unrelated to घट् (ghaṭ).
