The 2026 Illinois Secretary of State election will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect the Illinois Secretary of State. Incumbent Democratic secretary Alexi Giannoulias has not yet officially announced a bid for re-election, though it was reported in May 2025 that he would likely seek re-election.[1][2] Primary elections will be held on March 17, 2026.[3]
