The 2026 Armed Forces Bowl is a college football bowl game that is scheduled to be played on January 2, 2026, at Amon G. Carter Stadium located in Fort Worth, Texas. The 23rd annual Armed Forces Bowl game will feature the Rice Owls from the American Conference and the Texas State Bobcats from the Sun Belt Conference. The game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. CST and will air on ESPN.[1][2] The Armed Forces Bowl will be one of the 2025–26 bowl games concluding the 2025 FBS football season. The game is sponsored by aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin and is officially known as the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.
Teams
The Rice Owls (5–7, 2–6 American) and Texas State Bobcats (6–6, 3–5 Sun Belt) officially accepted invitations to play in the 2026 edition of the Armed Forces Bowl. Rice is playing in the bowl for the second time, having previously appeared in the 2012 edition, while Texas State is making its inaugural trip.
