Etymology

Blend of Malaysia +‎ Bangladesh, reversed counterpart of Banglasia. Along with Banglasia, it was popularized by various anti-Malaysia groups in late 2023 as a xenophobic attack towards Malaysia for its acceptance and presence of Bangladeshi migrant labour; sense later extended as an Indophobic insult towards Malaysia's acceptance of its own Indian diaspora (especially Tamils for similar darker complexion) and their cultures and/or their Hindu faith more visible than that in Indonesia.
