Etymology
From അവ (ava, “those; they (neuter)”). As a suffix, it converts a relative participle into a neuter plural pronominal noun.

Syntactic Roles
Similar to the singular form -അത്, it can function as either the subject or the object:
- As Subject:
- പൊട്ടിപ്പോയവ മാറ്റി വെക്കുക.
- poṭṭippōyava māṟṟi vekkuka.
- Set aside the things that broke (subject).
- As Object:
- നീ തന്നവ ഞാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
- nī tannava ñāṉ sūkṣiccu vecciṭṭuṇṭŭ.
- I have carefully kept those which (the things) you gave.
