- Used to denote place or origin, birth, or residence of a person
- Алматы (Almaty, “Almaty”) + -лік (-lık) → Алматылық (Almatylyq, “[a person] from Almaty”)
- (literary) Added after -етін (-etın) or -ген (-gen) to affirm or emphasize the statement: really, indeed
- Оның келіп кеткендігін айттым. ― Onyñ kelıp ketkendıgın aittym. ― I said that she will come (indeed).
- Optionally added to predicate words, when they form a subordinate clause.
- Сенің жақсы адам екендігің жұртқа аян. ― Senıñ jaqsy adam ekendıgıñ jūrtqa aän. ― Everyone knows that you are a good person.
- Қалай жазу керектігін білетін шығарсыз. ― Qalai jazu kerektıgın bıletın şyğarsyz. ― You probably know how it needs to be written.
