     Friend Chao Heng, you left us in the capital and sailed to the Fragrant Islands. Now the moon has sunk into the blue sea and will never return, leaving the whole of China clouded in sadness.

     In the early morning on the tenth of March, having taken some of the aftershock of the aerial attack on the capital [Tokyo] that had lit up Honjo and Fukagawa, fiery disaster had stricken part of Morioka as well.
