巨無霸

Attested in the Book of the Later Han:

時有長人巨無霸，長一丈，大十圍，以為壘尉；又驅諸猛獸虎、豹、犀、象之屬，以助威武。 [Literary Chinese, trad.]

From: The Book of the Later Han, circa 5^th century CE

Shí yǒu chángrén Jù Wúbà, cháng yī zhàng, dà shí wéi, yǐwéi lěiwèi; yòu qū zhū měngshòu hǔ, bào, xī, xiàng zhī shǔ, yǐ zhù wēiwǔ. [Pinyin]

At that time, there was a giant named Ju Wuba, who was ten feet tall and had a girth of ten wei (approximately one metre). He was appointed as a Commandant of the Fortifications. Furthermore, [the army] drove all kinds of fierce beasts—tigers, leopards, rhinoceroses, and elephants—to enhance its awe-inspiring might.
