ตรีศูล
Thai
Etymology
Learned borrowing from Sanskrit त्रिशूल (triśūla, “trident”, literally “three pikes; three spikes; three spears; etc”), from त्रि (tri, “three”) + शूल (śūla, “pike; spike; spear; etc”).
By surface analysis, ตรี (dtrii) + ศูล (sǔul).
Cognate with Old Khmer triśūla; Modern Khmer ត្រីសូល៍ (treisol៍), ត្រៃសូរ (traysou).
