Inherited from Proto-New Indo-Aryan *लोत्था (lŏtthā, “lump”), related to Hindi लोथड़ा (lothṛā, “lump of flesh”), लोदा (lodā, “lump”), लोंदा (londā), लड्डू (laḍḍū). Cognate with Punjabi ਲੋਥ (loth) / لوتھ (loth), Gujarati લોથ (loth), Marathi लोथ (loth), Nepali लोथ (loth).
