Etymology

    Probably from Proto-Indo-European *dʰwer(h₁)-.[1] Cognate with Hittite [script needed] (du-wa-ar-ni-iz-zi /⁠duwarnizi⁠/, to break).[2] See ध्वर॑ति (dhvárati) for more. Doublet of धूर्व् (dhūrv).
