    Inherited from Prakrit *𑀔𑀼𑀭𑀇 (*khuraï) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀘𑁆𑀘- (-cca-) (compare attested 𑀙𑀼𑀭𑀇 (churaï, to break), with different sound change), from Sanskrit क्षु॒रति॑ (kṣuráti, to cut, scratch).[1]
