    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀙𑀟𑁆𑀟𑀇 (chaḍḍaï), from Sanskrit छर्दति (chardati), possibly from Proto-Indo-Iranian *(š)ćárdati. Cognate to Sinhalese හෙළනවා (heḷanawā, to throw down, cast down)
