1. Forms adjectives from nouns; with

   ‎طراق (tarak, “crest of feathers (on a bird)”) + ‎ـلو → ‎طراقلو (taraklı, “crested”)

2. Forms demonyms

   ‎وندیك (Venedik, “Venice”) + ‎ـلو → ‎وندیكلو (Venedikli, “Venetian”)

• During Ottoman times the vowels of some Turkish suffixes changed from rounded (u, ü) to unrounded (ı, i). The spelling ـلو represents the older pronunciation.
