The 26651/26652 KSR Bengaluru - Ernakulam Junction Vande Bharat Express is India's 78th Vande Bharat Express train, which connects the Silicon City of Karnataka, Bengaluru, with the commercial city of Kerala, Kochi. [1][2][3][4][5][6]

This express train was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi[7] via video conferencing from the Ganges metropolitan city of Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi on November 08 2025. [8][9][10][11][12]

Overview

This train is operated by South Western Railways, connecting KSR Bengaluru City Jn., Krishnarajapuram, Salem Jn, Erode Jn, Tiruppur, Coimbatore Jn, Palakkad Jn, Thrissur, and Ernakulam Jn (South). [13][14] It is currently operated with train numbers 26651/26652, running on six days a week, except on Wednesdays. [15][16][17][18][19]

Rakes

It is the seventy-second 2nd Generation Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative.[20]

Both 26651 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Jn. Vande Bharat Express and 26652 Ernakulam Jn. – KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express share a single 8-coach Vande Bharat rake with 7 AC Chair Car (C1–C7) and 1 AC Executive Chair Car (E1). Coach composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways.
