Céline Dion chante Noël (transl. "Celine Dion sings Christmas") is the second studio album and first Christmas album by Canadian singer Celine Dion. It was released in Quebec, Canada on 4 December 1981, through Super Étoiles and distributed by Trans-Canada Disques. The album features cover versions of popular Christmas songs. It was produced entirely by René Angélil.
Background and conception
Dion's manager, René Angélil decided to put out two albums at the same time: La voix du bon Dieu and Céline Dion chante Noël.[1] The latter was released three weeks after Dion's debut album and included Christmas carols.[2] Céline Dion Chante Noël and La voix du bon Dieu sold 30,000 copies in 1981 in Quebec, Canada and would go on to sell 125,000 copies the following year.[3]
