The 2026 Indian Premier League (also known as IPL 19 and branded as TATA IPL 2026) will be the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League. The tournament will feature ten teams competing in 84 matches from March to May 2026. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions. IPL 19 is all set to begin alongside PSL 11, with both leagues kicking off on 26 March 2026.[1]
Background
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 (T20) cricket league held in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is held annually since the first edition in 2008.[2] Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions, having won their maiden title in the previous season after beating Punjab Kings in the final.[3]
