The 2026 season is the 17th and upcoming season for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings. It is one of the ten teams that is slated to compete in the 202 IPL. The Super Kings are the joint most successful franchise with five IPL titles. The team finished tenth and last in the previous season.

Pre-season

The 2026 Indian Premier League will be the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket league held in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.[1] The Chennai Super Kings are the joint-most successful franchise (along with Mumbai Indians with five IPL title wins.[2][3] The team finished tenth and last in the previous season.[4]

In November 2025, ahead of the auction for the 2026 season, the Super Kings released 11 players including four overseas players.[5] The team traded in Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals, in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.[6]
