The 2025–26 season is the 148th season in the history of Grimsby Town Football Club and their fourth consecutive season in League Two. In addition to the domestic league, the club would also participate in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the EFL Trophy.

Pre-season and friendlies
On 14 May, Grimsby Town announced they would kick-off pre-season with a trip to Cleethorpes Town.[31] Five days later, a second fixture was added to the schedule, against Grimsby Borough.[32] On 3rd June, the third pre-season friendly away to Gainsborough Trinity was announced.[33] One day later, three more games were added, an away fixture against Rochdale, a game away at Boston United and a home game against Peterborough United.[34][35] On the following day, the final pre-season game was announced, versus Lincoln City.[36]

FA Cup
As a League Two side, Grimsby entered the FA Cup in the first round, and were drawn at home to National League South side Ebbsfleet United.[43] After beating Ebbsfleet 3–1, Grimsby were drawn at home to Wealdstone.[44] They beat Wealdstone 4-0 to progress to the third round, where Grimsby were drawn at home to Weston-super-Mare.[45]

EFL Cup
As a League Two side, Grimsby entered the EFL Cup in the first round, and were drawn at home to League Two side Shrewsbury Town.[46] In the second round, they were drawn at home to Premier League club Manchester United,[47] which was the first time the two teams have faced each other since 1948. Grimsby won the match in a shock victory of 12–11 on penalties after a 2–2 draw.[48] In the third round, Grimsby were drawn away to Championship club Sheffield Wednesday,[49] where they won 1–0 and reached the fourth round for the first time since 2001.[50] In the fourth round, they were drawn at home to Premier League side Brentford.[51]
