The 2025–26 season is the 159th season in the history of Chesterfield Football Club and their second consecutive season in League Two. The club are participating in League Two, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 23 May, Chesterfield announced their first pre-season fixture, against Matlock Town.[39] Three weeks later, a second friendly was added against Sheffield United.[40] Also confirmed was a training camp in Spain, along with a friendly against Europa Point.[41] On 17 June, a fourth friendly match was added to the schedule, against Burton Albion.[42] A fifth and sixth friendly was later announced, against Nottingham Forest and Alfreton Town.[43][44]
