Etymology

Compound of toon +‎ force. See also cartoon physics. Received a large spike in usage following March 2022[1], when chapter 1044 of of one piece debuted "Gear 5" and fans used the term to describe it. Also received a spike in usage following August 2023, when the corresponding episode of the TV series released.
