Usage notes

  • It is very (if not more) common to conjugate the preterite, future indicative, conditional, and imperfect subjunctive forms of this verb as if they were regular (yo satisfací, satisfaceré, satisfacería, satisfaciera, satisfaciese). The preterite and imperfect subjunctive forms are also often conjugated like those of traer (yo satisfaje, satisfajera, satisfajese). Because the future subjunctive is practically restricted to legal texts, it is not common for it to be conjugated incorrectly. Otherwise it would be conjugated as yo satisfaciere or yo satisfajere. Both the regular and traer-like conjugations are proscribed by the Royal Spanish Academy, which only accepts conjugating the verb like hacer (see conjugation table).
