Usage notes
Since the 2026 reform, this prefix (alongside quasi-) is used without a hyphen when prefixed to lowercase words, and with a hyphen when prefixed to uppercase words. Before, the hyphen was omitted only in scientific (especially biological[1]) terms.[2]
