crankweb (plural crankwebs)

  1. (mechanical engineering) A part of a crankshaft on either side of a connecting rod bearing.
    • 1958 September, “Swindon's First Main-Line Diesel Locomotive”, in Railway Magazine, page 601:
      The roller main bearings are mounted on the crankwebs, the outer races being mounted in the annular walls of the crankcase.
