Etymology

From Proto-Afroasiatic *ḥinu. Compare Rendille nah', Somali annaga. Unrelated to Central Atlas Tamazight ⵏⵓⴽⴽⵏⵉ (nukkni) and Egyptian jnn, of which both are later innovations.
