    Borrowed from Old Spanish çenoria, borrowed from Andalusian Arabic *سَفُنَّارْيَة (*safunnārya), from Arabic إِسْفَنَارِيَّة (ʔisfanāriyya), borrowed from Ancient Greek σταφυλίνη (staphulínē, carrot) or ἀγρία (agría, wild).
