English

Etymology

From Serbo-Croatian Krk. Apparently from Byzantine Greek Κύρικον (Kúrikon) or Latin Curicum. Not from Latin Curicta and Ancient Greek Κυρικτική (Kuriktikḗ), as this does not work phonologically.

Proper noun

Krk

  1. An island of the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia.
  2. A town on Krk, Croatia, named after and located on the eponymous island.
