𒉿𒀸𒊺𒄑𒍣

Hittite

Etymology

Disputed. The term is sometimes derived from Proto-Indo-European *woséyeti, from Proto-Indo-European *wes-. However, Kloekhorst suggests that the term instead derives from Proto-Indo-European *usyéti, from the same root. Regardless, cognate with English wear.

Verb
