From 닭 (dak, “chicken”) +‎ 볶음 (bokkeum, “stir-fry”) +‎ 탕 (tang, “soup, stew”). Controversially prescribed as the replacement for 닭도리탕 (dakdoritang) by the National Institute of Korean Language.
