機杼

     Xī Mèng mǔ, zé lín chù. Zǐ bù xué, duàn jīzhù. [Pinyin]

     Of old, the mother of Mencius chose a neighbourhood; and when her child would not learn, she broke the shuttle from the loom.

     From: Ballad of Mulan, circa 6ᵗʰ century ᴄᴇ

     Jījī fù jījī, Mùlán dāng hù zhī. Bù wén jīzhù shēng, wéi wén nǚ tànxī. [Pinyin]

     The sound of one sigh after another, as Mulan weaves at the doorway. No sound of the loom and shuttle, only that of the girl lamenting.
