ഉള്ളത്

ഉള്ള (uḷḷa, “having/existing”) +‎ -അത് (-atŭ, “it/that”). Literally "that which exists" or "that which is true." Cognate with Tamil உள்ளது (uḷḷatu).

1. that which is present; the available thing

   അവിടെ ഉള്ളത് എന്താണെന്ന് പോയി നോക്കൂ.

   aviṭe uḷḷatŭ entāṇennŭ pōyi nōkkū.

   Go and see what is (present) there.

2. the truth; reality; fact

   Synonyms: നേര് (nērŭ), സത്യം (satyaṁ)

   ഞാൻ ഉള്ളത് ആണ് പറഞ്ഞത്.

   ñāṉ uḷḷatŭ āṇŭ paṟaññatŭ.

   I said what is true (the truth).

3. that which one possesses; one's belongings or resources

   നമുക്ക് ഉള്ളത് കൊണ്ട് ജീവിക്കാം.

   namukkŭ uḷḷatŭ koṇṭŭ jīvikkāṁ.

   We can live with what we have.

• ഉള്ളത് ഉള്ളതുപോലെ പറയുക (uḷḷatŭ uḷḷatupōle paṟayuka): To tell things exactly as they are; to speak the plain truth.
