सन्नाना

Hindi

Etymology

From Prakrit *सण्णाएइ (saṇṇāei), from Sanskrit संनादयति (saṃnādayati), from the root नद् (nad, to resound). Turner supposes that the irregular retention of geminate -nn- is expressive onomatopoeic, while it could also be semi-learned—compare संनाद (sannād, consonance).
