    Borrowed from Classical Persian طَعْنَه (ta'na), borrowed from Arabic طَعْنَة (ṭaʕna), from طَعَنَ (ṭaʕana).[1] First attested in c. 1503 as Middle Hindi طعنہ (t̤'nh /⁠ta'na⁠/).[2]
