Borrowed from Dravidian, compare Tamil குரசு (kuracu, “horse's hoof”), Kui (India) କ୍ରୁସୁ (krusu, “barking deer, jungle sheep”).[1][2] The phonological variants खुडक (khuḍaka), खुलक (khulaka) at least suggest the term is borrowed from substrate.
