Inherited from Proto-New Indo-Aryan *ओज्झल्ल (ŏjjhalla, “shade, veil”) for more. Cognate with Punjabi ਓਝਲ (ojhal), Gujarati ઓઝલ (ojhal, “veil”), and perhaps Romani ućhal (“shadow; shade”).
