Etymology
Borrowed from Classical Syriac ܫܒܰܛܒܴ݁ܛܳܐ (šəḇaṭbāṭā), which is from reduplicated *būṣ-, found in Arabic as بُوصِير (būṣīr, “mullein”), contaminated with ܫܰܒܛܳܐ (šabṭā, “staff, rod”).
