     In Shemīrān there was a good man from Derbent, whose name was Abū al-Faẓl Khalīfa, son of Alī the Philosopher. He was a noble man, and was generous towards us and showed us courtesies. We chatted with each other, and friendship grew between us. He said to me, "What are your plans?" I said, "I have set my mind on journeying to the qibla." He said, "I hope when you return, you pass by here so that I can see you again."
