Derived from Proto-Yeniseian *ɯnpʰa (“twice”), derived from Proto-Yeniseian *Hɯn (“two”) + Proto-Yeniseian *pʰa (“once, ...times; often”).[1] Alternatively, analyzable as a numerical compound of ын (ɨ̄n, “two”) +‎ ха (hā, “...times”).
