Inherited from Proto-Ketic *ubetʲ (“have a rest”, infinitive verb),[1] derived from Proto-Ketic *ūˑ (“strong”, adjective) + Proto-Ketic *beˤdʲʌ (“make, do”, infinitive verb).
Alternatively, analyzable as a verbal compound of у (ū, “strong”) + бет (bèd, “making, the act of making”).
