Etymology

By surface analysis, осем (osem) +‎ -ме (-me). Epenthetic -ц- (-c-) is due to influence from пейцме (pejcme) and шейсцме (šejscme)[1], and also to break up the -мм- (-mm-) consonant cluster across morpheme boundaries.

Pronunciation

  • Hyphenation: осем‧цме
