Etymology
Per Bulgarian Etymological Dictionary, probably a blend of:
- Extended form of dial. лъка́тя (lǎkátja, “to bend, to curve”) + -уша (-uša), derived from an unattested *lǫkatъ (“bent, curved”).
- Deverbal from ла́кът (lákǎt, “elbow”) + -уша (-uša). Favoured by Mladenov.
