MIRUD (born Durim Morina) is a Kosovo-born singer who has released music in Albanian and has participated and became a finalist in several editions of Festivali i Këngës, Albania’s national song festival. His work has been widely covered in Albanian media.
Early life and background
Durim Morina was born in Prizren, Kosovo.[1] He later moved to the United States, where he continued his musical career. His early involvement with music, including vocal training, has been mentioned in Albanian media reports.[2]

Festivali i Këngës 57
In 2018, he was one of the artists selected to participate in Festivali i Këngës 57. He progressed to the Semi-final 2 with his song "Nënë". [7]
Festivali i Këngës 59 (2020)
In 2020, MIRUD participated in the 59th edition of Festivali i Këngës and progressed to the final night with the song "Nëse vdes".[8]
Albanian media reported that his staging and costume drew significant attention and discussion on social media.[9]

Kënga Magjike 2021
In 2021, MIRUD was invited to participate in Kënga Magjike, but did not take part after testing positive for COVID-19 shortly before traveling.[11] The entry he planned to present was produced with Kledi Bahiti and Anxhela Peristeri.[12]
Festivali i Këngës 60 (2021)
Later in 2021, MIRUD was one of the participating artists for the 60th edition of Festivali i Këngës where he qualified for the final night with the ballad "Për dreq".[13] He discussed his preparation and artistic intentions in an interview with Top Albania Radio.[14]
Subsequent activity
Morina has continued releasing music through the early 2020s. Several of his singles have appeared on Top Channel’s Top List, where his chart placements were documented.[15][16]
