Krasňany (Hungarian: Karasznyán) is a village and municipality in Žilina District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Krasňany (Slovak) - a beautiful place.[4]

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1354 (Karzna).[4]

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 383 metres (1,257 ft)[3] and covers an area of 15.17 km2 (5.86 sq mi) (2024).[5]
