The Defense Commissary Agency Civilian Career Service Award is an honorary award given to a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) employee at their retirement to recognize the entirety of their career.[1]

Criteria

The award may be conferred on retirees who meet the following criteria:

  1. have a record of sustained superior performance that had effects on mission objectives of DeCA
  2. recognition of other DeCA or DoD awards is not a prerequisite nor does it make them ineligible for this award
  3. it can not be awarded at the same time as the DeCA Distinguished Civilian Service Award,DeCA Meritorious Civilian Service Award, DeCA Superior Civilian Service Award, or the DeCA Certificate of Achievement.

Description

The medal is stylized shield of red brass with the seal of the Defense Commissary Agency on the front. On the Reverse it is inscribed DEFENSE COMMISSARY AGENCY and CIVILIAN CAREER SERVICE AWARD AWARDED TO above crossed laurels and oak leaves.[2]
