The 2025–26 Oklahoma City Thunder season is the 18th season of the franchise in Oklahoma City and the 59th in the National Basketball Association (NBA). For the second time in franchise history, and the first since relocating to Oklahoma City, the Thunder entered the season as the defending NBA champions, having defeated the Indiana Pacers in seven games in the previous year's NBA Finals.[1] The Thunder started the season 24–1, tying the 2015–16 Golden State Warriors team for the best 25-game start in NBA history.
Previous season
The Thunder finished the 2024–25 season with a 68–14 record, placing first in the Northwest division and securing the top seed in the Western Conference for the second consecutive year. In the playoffs, the Thunder swept the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, defeated the Denver Nuggets in seven games in the second round, and won the Western Conference Finals in five games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, advancing to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 2011–12 season. The Thunder went on to win the championship by defeating the Indiana Pacers in seven games.

The Thunder entered the draft with two first-round selections and one second-round pick, all acquired through previous trades. The team's late first-round pick was obtained via a pick swap with the Los Angeles Clippers, stemming from the trade that brought Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Thunder.[2][3]
